Join our Squadron of Seaplane Volunteers
The Western States Seaplane Festival is a major regional event that is held in Lakeport and is organized and staffed completely by volunteers. The Festival attracts seaplanes from as far away as Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Families and seaplane enthusiasts from every corner of northern California will travel to Lake County to see the seaplanes in action.
Join our efforts to make this a fun, safe, and enjoyable experience for the public, our guests, vendors, and the seaplane crews.
We need your help for just one day: September 20, 2008.

Roy Cooper has watched the seaplanes land on Clear Lake every September for over a decade.
Last year, he heard our call for volunteers and responded.
Roy adds, "Being a Tour Guide allowed be to get up close and talk with most of the pilots.

"I am not a pilot. In fact, I have only been in a small airplane twice in my life. But with a couple of hours of training, I was able to explain the features of most of the airplanes.
"The pilots and crews were great. Not only to me, as a volunteer, but to the families and groups that I escorted through the Festival area.
"The crews took lots of time to chat with everyone. They really passed along their enthusiasm for their seaplanes and flying activities."
Join Roy and other volunteers at this year's Festival.
Team Leaders
Each of our teams needs a Team Leader. You can help plan and
manage your team's functions,
and then to guide the team members on the day of the Festival.
Being a Team Leader does not require a great deal of time, just attend
a few planning meetings
prior to the Festival.
